IMPORTANT NEW FILM FROM JERUSALEM
April 11, 2010

JERUSALEM FILMMAKER INVITES YOU TO VIEW A  SHORT NEW DOCUMENTARY FILM

Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Day) 2010: Victor Beresticki, “From Berlin to Jerusalem”

We met Victor at the Western Wall, late at night, about a year ago and became instant friends. Born in Berlin in the 1920’s, Victor moved from London to Jerusalem at age 80. Here he lived alone. As he grew weaker, we tried to help him more. This short, intimate piece is about his survival and renewal: it’s about a purpose beyond the self.

Victor’s dream was to share his story and have us spread it to the masses online. We are currently working on this large scale project and we’ve gathered some 50 hours of footage so far. In honor of Yom HaShoah, we’ve released this segment of the larger piece.

We seek to secure grants in the very near future to allow us to complete the editing and spread Victor’s story, just like he wished until his last days. We’re looking for donors to help us commemorate the Holocaust and Israeli History.

Please contact us for more information, and please share this important video with your friends, family, and loved ones!

Never Forget!

“GOVERNER CRIST, PLEASE HELP STOP THE JEW-HATING AND HOLOCAUST DENIAL ATTACKS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA.”
April 11, 2010

Dear Governor Crist:

Months ago, we asked you to change the date of the special election in District 19, because it fell on the Jewish holiday of Passover and you did and this election is scheduled for this coming Tuesday.

Now we have another request, also of serious consequence we are asking you to take action on.

We just discovered a few hours ago that the Student Government, African Student Association, Muslim Student Association and Student United Muslim Association are bringing to the University of S. Fla., Norm Finkelstein, to speak at Marshall Center at 7 P.M. on April 28, 2010.

Below are what some scholars think of this Jew hating Jew, who denies the Holocaust and violates Title 18 of U.S. Code in giving material support to terrorists, which Finkelstein offers to Hamas, which is dedicated to destroying Israel and also America.

While Finkelstein has a First Amendment right to be a jerk and liar, even the State of Israel denied him entrance to Israel in May of 2008 for being so blatant an attacker on everything Israel does to survive the Islamic terrorists, let alone Finkelstein’s ‘holocaust denial’ politics.

Finkelstein was even denied tenure at DePaul University and below are comments as to his dishonesty and lack of credibility.

Our position is why, with Florida $3.2 billion in debt with our state budget, would it allow any campus institution to bring a Jew and Israel hater and Holocaust denier to use state monies and facilities to be given to this obvious terrorist supporter against Israel and America?

We are addressing this very same question to Rep. Hasner and also to U. of S. Fla. President, Judy Genshaft.

On Feb. 26, 2010, the Muslim Student Assoc. at U. of Calif, at Irvine, interrupted Israeli Ambassador Oren so many times that 11 were arrested, while the Muslim Student Assoc. is pushing their agenda of not only not allowing another opinion, but also to divest from Israel.

Somehow, when Israel leaves Gaza that votes in Hamas and 10,000 rockets into Southern Israel, that is okay and 500 more rockets since the ‘ceasefire’ from when Israel attacked Gaza to stop this madness. Why is it okay for Hamas to kill Israelis and not be stopped, which every other country wouldn’t sit still and allow?

On Sept. 24, 2007, Iran’s ‘Little Hitler’, Ahmadinejad, was invited to Columbia Univ. in NYC to deny both the Holocaust and that Iran had any gays, which they hang.

The Mufti of Jerusalem was alligned with Hitler to wipe out all of the Jews and now the Muslims cowardly deny the Holocaust but want Iran to finish the job that Hitler started.

This isn’t free speech. This is yelling ‘fire’ in a crowded theatre. This is academics but masochism and the Stockholm Syndrome of identifying with the enemy and its dehumanization.

Why do Fla. taxpayers and U.S. taxpayers have to pick up the tab for the very people who danced in the streets after ‘9/11’ and daily scream “Death to Israel” and “Death to America”?

Every educational institution is in financial trouble, let alone every government. This is not ‘diversity’ but stupidity in giving a tax paying forum to those who want us all dead and this is why we are writing to you.

Please stop this abuse of the public, in allowing this event on a university campus. Let them take their hate campaign to a private place instead.

Shalom International and Manatee/Sarasota ZOA Chapter are already organizing a rally for Israel and America on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Bayside Marina, in downtown Sarasota at 2 P.M. and we’ll be rallying for Israel and America and against Obama’s hateful attack upon Israel in front of the White House on April 18 at 2 P.M. and on the 19th at Noon.

Since Oct. 2007, Shalom International has done 239 rallies/events and 1155 news interviews to “Keep Jerusalem and Israel United” and to oppose the Islamic Jihadists.

Shalom International has already spoken with Tampa and U. of S. Fla. police about protesting Finkelstein from 5-8P.M. at the entrance to Univ. of S. Fla. on Fowler Ave. and Leroy Collins Blvd. on April 28.

Gov. Crist, you are invited to join with us at either or both of these events and we urge you to do what you can to stop spending Florida tax dollars at U. of S. Fla., to bring on this self-hating bigot and Holocaust denier.

This Sunday is Holocaust Remembrance Day all across America. We must never forget that from Hitler to Hamas, the Holocaust Continues. We must never forget how appeasing Hitler with ‘land for peace’, brought on WWII and 60millions dead and nearly 7 million Jewish men, women and children murdered just for being Jews. We are back into the 1930s by the ‘peace at any price gang’ and this agenda by Finkelstein as well as this Obama administration.

Now we have Obama  equating the Holocaust with “Muslim humiliation”, as Obama stated in Cairo, last June, while Obama cowardly ignores mentioning 5 Arab wars and 2 Intifadas from the Muslims who wanted all Jews dead and all of Israel under their control and nothing has changed here.

Israel has been Jewish for 5000 yrs. and Jerusalem has been Jewish for 3000 yrs. and yet the Obama administration has no problem attacking our Covenant with G-d, our history, identity, our faith and all the millions of Jews murdered for being Jews. Obama even refuses visas for Israeli nuclear scientists to come to the U.S. while ignoring Iran’s attempt to make nukes it will use against Israel and America and Israel will be forced to attack Iran within the next several months.

Would Obama, Hillery, Biden and the Muslim Student Association agree that Mecca should be divided and given up for Peace? Oil politics? Revisionism and Holocaust Denial?

Obama refuses to honor signed agreements to even supply Israel with U.S. made arm requests to defend herself from these Islamic Jihadists supported by the very groups at U. of S. Fla. who are sponsoring Finkelstein.

The dangers of this appeasement only invites Israel’s and America’s enemies to strike at us again and again.

Will you as Governor of Fla., take a stand against this outrageous betrayal of Israel by Obama and this attempt to divide Jerusalem and gives the Nazis their number one victory?

Will you Gov. Crist stop this abuse at the U. of S. Fla. with Finkelstein?

We find it ironic that the African Student Union would sponsor Finkelstein, while Obama wants Jerusalem and all Jewish holy sights under the auspices of the United Nations which has allowed a genocide of 500,000 blacks by Muslims in Darfur, Sudan.

We just celebrated the Passover which is thousands of years older than Islam on how G-d took us from slavery into liberation as the model for all peoples.

Tragically, the Muslim extremists are on the attack against Jews, Christians, Hindus, Bhuddists and all ‘infidels’, with Saudi Arabia behind ‘9/11’ and 15,000+ Islamic terrorist attacks since and with its oil blackmail politics, that is responsible for 30,000 people starving to death globally every day and we do not hear a peep from the Student Government at U. of S. fla., about this atrocity by the same folks behind Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, ad nauseum.

Obama wouldn’t even identity the Ft. Hood Muslim terrorist who killed 13 and wounded many more as an Islamic terrorist.

Taking a guy like Finkelstein, who makes $25,000+ per speech, who attacks his own people and history, is like asking the Baptist Nazis from Topeka, Kansas, who rally at the funerals of Americans killed in Iran and Afghanistan, to come in and scream, “God Hates Jews, Fags, and all U.S. Military” and get paid for it no less.

Oh, this nasty gang of misfits from Topeka, Kansas, will be protesting outside of the Hillel House at U. of S. Fla. on 4/19/10 at 9:15 A.M..

For some reason these ‘birds of a feather’ are, descending with their hate, at the U. of S. Fla. campus, which is the real issue here.
Gov. Crist, we hope you’ll take emergency action on all of this in these very dangerous times, when our own government predicts we’ll be hit again within the next 6 months with another catastophe like ‘9/11’.

We await your immediate response to this emergency.
Yours in Shalom,
Bob Kunst

“Humanity sympathizes with a strenuous aspiration.

It can’t have respect for people who lack self respect.”

Pierre Van Paassen – “The Forgotten Ally”

By Beth Gilinsky and Rabbi Aryeh Spero

We have been receiving numerous communications from the People of Israel expressing how demoralized and abandoned the Jewish People in Israel feel by the lack of any strong and meaningful statement and vigorous, public demonstrations sponsored by any of the major and established Jewish organizations in support of Israel’s position regarding Jerusalem.

They feel that the treatment of Israel during the last three weeks by President Obama, Hillary Clinton, and spokesmen for the Administration has been an unprecedented humiliation of the Jewish State and a willful isolation of it among the community of nations.

In addition, they are alarmed at the silence of the Jewish community in light of how the Obama Administration has been making statements and taking measures that everyone knows give license for the Arab population within Israel and on its borders to renew intifada and rioting that will severely harm the individual Israeli, as is already being done.

Furthermore, the brazen and humiliating way in which the Prime Minister of Israel, the de facto representative of the entire Jewish People, was treated by the entire staff of the White House in front of all the eyes of the world should not be tolerated.  It is encouraging other Western countries, as well as Arab countries, to treat Israel as a diplomatic pariah and even question Israel’s legitimacy as a state itself.

The Israeli People are not looking for yet another statement from the establishment Jewish community as to how we are in favor of a peace process, a “two-state solution”, or that the last three weeks of humiliation “disrupts” further peace negotiations.  What they are looking for, and what the establishment Jewish organizations should do, is to express their outrage at the mistreatment and humiliation of the Jewish State and attempts to portray the Jewish State as being the sole entity blocking a successful War on Terror.  This is reminiscent of previous blood libels throughout history, where the Jewish People have been accused that their existence, rituals, or means of survival has been the cause for the loss of Muslim or Christian life.

The Jewish world is awaiting your affirmation that the entire city of Jerusalem must continue to be under Jewish sovereignty and is Israel’s eternal, united capital, and that Jews not be specifically outlawed from building and living in all of its neighborhoods.

Furthermore, it is apparent that the Obama Administration, from the President to Mrs. Clinton, to David Axelrod, and the President’s spokesmen are engaging in an attempt to overturn the will of the Israeli People who voted for the current Prime Minister and his coalition partners. They view it — and rightly so — as a belittlement not only to their sovereignty, but also to their right to determine who their leaders should be.

On so many fronts, the past three weeks have been an absolute and unwarranted, yet purposeful, humiliation of the Jewish People and the State of Israel.  We would expect that the establishment Jewish organizations and leaders would have the courage to stand up, with pride, for the Jewish People and its state.  Instead, we are witnessing a silence that conveys the message that the leadership of the Jewish community is more interested in being friends with the Administration than doing its duty by announcing to the world that this cannot be tolerated.  We look for the Jewish organizations and its leaders to speak Truth to Power.

The silence of the established Jewish organizations on this matter, in contrast to the outspokenness from J Street, has elevated and allowed J Street to become the most visible and prominent organization speaking out about these issues within the Jewish community.  No doubt, many of our leaders are working behind the scenes to repair the rupture of the last three weeks.  In this case, however, that is simply not enough and evades the real issue.  The world at large has seen a public humiliation and rebuke of the State of Israel go unanswered. Unless it sees a profoundly public rebuke of such treatment, it will assume that such humiliating treatment of Jews and the Jewish State are now acceptable and de rigueur.

The World must hear.  The World must see.  It takes little courage to meet with other leaders behind closed doors. The courage that is needed now is one where the world sees that Israel, its representatives and the Jewish People cannot tolerate that which no other nation or community would tolerate.  Failure to do so openly and in public will guarantee that this will happen again, even if this particular crisis is “smoothed out.”

Leaders are not simply men and women who work behind the scenes. Leaders of a community are those who have enough conviction and pride in the profile of their community that they boldly, with enthusiasm, defend their People when unjustly humiliated. Doing so stops the slide of demoralization in its people and restores their confidence in themselves as a People, a people with a legitimate destiny. The American Jewish Community expects that type of leadership from those who claim to be its leaders.

Obama’s Israeli Coalition Members
April 3, 2010

When I read Caroline Glick’s article below, I wept for the internal treachery in Israel, only matched by the insanity and nastiness of the 14 Jewish organizations that met with Obama to divide Jerusalem last June, which will finish off the Jewish state and absolutley no peace, but more war and a bodycount and this is their agenda they are selling and getting $millions for this betrayal.

And most of the Jews keep their mouths shut as this mayhem unravels, except for some of us, thank G-d.

For all my life I never understood how a Holocaust could take place and it is taking place right before my eyes once again and now I understand.

Obama’s Israeli coalition members

Caroline Glick – CarolineGlick.com,  April

Americans watching in horror as Barack Obama makes clear that he is an enemy, not a friend of Israel, will be shocked to know that while the Israeli public shares their estimation, the Israeli media and the political left are taking Obama’s side against Israel.

It is important to understand the context behind what is happening today in Israel because the powers that be on the Israeli Left are advancing several different agendas at once by attacking Netanyahu.

For their part, Yediot Ahronot, Ma’ariv and Channel 2 television news which is owned by more or less the same people as Yediot, are all battling Netanyahu as a proxy against his political supporter US billionaire Sheldon Adelson. Adelson owns the new free daily newspaper Yisrael Hayom and his is distributing for free in 350,000 copies a day. Recently, Yisrael Hayom began publishing a weekend newspaper as well.

Before establishing Yisrael Hayom, Adelson made two attempts buy Ma’ariv which has been hemorrhaging cash for years. After the leftist media establishment circled the wagons to block him, Ma’ariv’s primary owners, the Nimrodi family rejected his offer.

Just this month, they sold a large share of the newspaper to high-tech multimillionaire Zaki Rakib. Media analysts suspect that something other than financial interests played a role in the deal because no one believes that Ma’ariv has a future in light of Adelson’s move to capture the newspaper advertising market with his free paper. Among other things, it has been reported that Rakib has just formed an investment fund with Yediot’s heiress Judy Shalom-Nir-Mozes.

So too, in Jul 2008 Yediot lost its monopoly, (i.e. more than 50% share) of the Israeli daily newspaper market due to Yisrael Hayom’s erosion of its readership. Both Yediot and Ma’ariv declared war against Netanyahu in the hopes that by putting the squeeze on him, he will prevail on Adelson to cut back on Yisrael Hayom’s circulation. In light of Yediot’s owners’ ownership shares in Channel 2, financial interests have played a role in the television station’s animosity towards the premier.

 1st, 2010
The Israeli media’s business interests are perfectly aligned with their ideological interests, which are overwhelmingly far left. As many of you know, last year, through my position as the senior Middle East fellow at the Center for Security Policy, I launched Latma, a Hebrew-language, satirical media criticism website to expose the political bias and incompetence of the print and broadcast media in Israel to the domestic audience in a new way. For the past several weeks, I have been posting the English subtitled versions of our weekly videocast The Tribal Update.

At any rate, the ideological bias of the Israeli media has similarly led the local press to take Obama’s side against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Since Netanyahu returned from the US, Yediot, Ma’ariv, and the far-leftist flagship Ha’aretz have been pressuring him to adhere to Obama’s diktat and bring Kadima in as a senior coalition member while ejecting Shas and Yisrael Beitenu. In the past week, Ha’aretz has manipulatively published polling data to create a false perception of Obama as friendly towards Israel twice. Ma’ariv and Yediot have both blamed Netanyahu for the rift with Obama and Ha’aretz has repeatedly called for the overthrow of his government, (in the interest of Israel’s crucial relationship with Washington, of course).

Add to this mix the behavior of the political left. First we have the anti-Ehud Barak chorus in the Labor party. Since Barak joined Netanyahu’s government, a half of his party has rejected his move and consistently voted with the opposition against the government. This means that we have seen a de facto spilt in the Labor party for the past year. In the interests of maintaining the fiction that Barak remains the leader of the far left party, Netanyahu has given in the Barak on substantive issues to placate his party members and prevent them from breaking off and forming a new party.

Labor’s five cabinet ministers for their part, have no interest in leaving the government but to placate Labor primary voters – the decisive faction of which are Israeli Arabs – they give lip service to the Obama administration’s demand that Netanyahu bring Kadima in to the government. They of course know that if Kadima joins the coalition, they will lose their ministries, which is why there is no reason to take statements by the likes of Binyamin Ben Eliezer and Shalom Simchon seriously. But the media, which wish to weaken Netanyahu, has seized on half-hearted statements by Ben Eliezer and Simchon as well as by Avishai Braverman to attack Netanyahu.

Finally, there is Kadima and its chairwoman Tzippi Livni. As I wrote last week, there is suspicion that Kadima colluded with the Obama administration to initiate the current crisis in relations. Since Netanyahu returned to Israel, Livni has been pouring salt on his wounds and very publically blaming Netanyahu for the crisis, alleging that he isn’t serious about peace and that he is a coward because he won’t bow to Obama. So too, Livni and her lackeys in the party are demanding that in exchange for their agreement to save Netanyahu from himself, that the premier disassemble his government, rewrite its guidelines, fire all the current ministers from their positions and give Kadima full control over his policies.

What all of this shows is that for Netanyahu, and for Israel a moment of truth has arrived. His challenge domestically is to unmask Kadima’s Livni as a radical leftist. The way to do this is by tearing apart her party by bringing all centrist-right Kadima MKs into his government under the leadership of Livni’s rival Shaul Mofaz. So too, he has to move in a manner that will embolden the far left members of Labor to bolt the party. If Labor cracks up, Netanyahu will be able to give a portion of their ministries to Kadima breakaways. This is the only thing Netanyahu can do to derail Obama’s gambit to destabilize and dismantle his coalition. According to this report, Netanyahu seems to be operating on this logic.

Netanyahu leads the country at its hour of greatest peril. This week’s battles along the border with Gaza as well as the riots in Jerusalem must be met with overwhelming force and now if a full-scale war is to be averted and Israel is to maintain the initiative of when and how to attack Iran. At this time, he needs a weakened opposition in order to neutralize the adversarial US President’s ability to topple his government.

Passover, at the Seder:
April 3, 2010

And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: It is because of that which the Lord did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.”  “Blessed art Thou, O Lord our G-d, Who hast chosen us for Thy services from among the nations, exalting us by making us holy through Thy commandments.”

We are asked to remember the tears which our ancestors shed while suffering the tortures of slavery.  We must share in the obligations to advance Torah and the Jewish way of life. To remove ourselves from these endeavors, looking to others to carry the burdens, is to fail in our responsibility….for the benefit of our people and for the betterment of mankind.

“In every age oppressors rose against us, to crush our spirit and bring us low.  From the hands of all these tyrants and conquerors The Lord did rescue and restore His people. G-d’s help and guidance assured our survival. “No enemy shall ever triumph over Israel.”

When men defy the Will of G-d, they bring pain and suffering upon themselves. To deny His law and to do evil brings destruction upon those who perpetrate it.  In every generation, each Jew must look upon himself as though he, personally, was among those who went forth from Egypt. The struggle for freedom is a continuous struggle. We see ourselves as participants in the Exodus, for we must dedicate our energies to the cause there begun….as inheritors of the priceless heritage of liberty.”  “Inspire us to help rebuild the land of Israel, restore the City of Jerusalem, and cause Thy people everywhere to draw closer to Thy service.”

From hundreds of years of bondage and suffering, we are led out of Egypt, with G-d’s hand; given the Torah at Sinai, which describes exactly where in the Promised Land all 12 tribes will be allowed.

We have been doing this remembrance for thousands of years, older than either Christianity and even older than Islam.

Yet, this last week, we saw Obama humiliate not just Bibi and Israel, but our Covenant with

G-d, our 5,000 year old history and 3,000 in Jerusalem, our Eternal capital, our identity as

G-d’s Chosen to give the world the Ten Commandments and in spite of all the horror, we’ve been subjected to, from Babylonia, Assyria, Rome, The Crusades, The Inquisition, The Pogroms, The Holocaust, 5 Arab wars and 2 Intifadas…..and all the many millions of Jews slaughtered for Jerusalem and the ‘holyland’ and for being “Jews”…….Obama could care less about all of the above.  I am appalled at the lack of response from the Jews to this outrageous attack upon us from a President of the United States who wouldn’t even be there if it wasn’t for the Jewish vote.

AIPAC and the other 13 Jewish groups who met with Obama last July to divide Jerusalem and gives the Nazis their #1 victory, kept quiet about Obama/Hitlery/Biden’s insidious attacks on Israel, our faith and all of us.

While 350 members of Congress urged Obama to back off, they didn’t state that Jerusalem should remain united and our Eternal Capital.

This attack only encouraged Iran and the Arabs to continue their attacks upon the Jews.

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch was incensed but where were the Jews in the Democratic Party and in Congress speaking out?

Where is the Republican leadership on this outrageous behavior of Obama’s as part of their campaign?

In the #1 U.S. Senate race in the nation, both Governor Charlie Crist and former Florida Speaker Marco Rubio, completely ignored the opportunity in their nationally televised debate to really hold Obama accountable for his miserable anti-Semitism politics, but neither of these Republicans did, nor did anything come out of the Democrat running for U.S. Senate in this race.

 And it goes on.

As you all get a ton of e-mails, where was your own outrage to being treated like this by Obama and gang?

Are so many still enslaved? Still wandering, (not just the 40 years in Sinai)?  Still not resisting? Still ignoring those who do?

Last week the Arabs kept repeating the need to kill all Jews. Obama’s Jew-hating attacks upon Israel added to their desires. Where were the Jews?

We are asking everyone to join us at the White House on April 18 at 2:00 PM to Rally for a United Jerusalem and Israel and to stand against Obama’s dreadful anti-semitism that endangers Israel and America.

Yesterday was our 236th rally/event since October 2007 and our 1,154 news interview. Again, our visibility matters and we got terrific support from those driving by our signs. We aren’t afraid. We are making a difference. We are aware that from Egypt to today, we cannot deny what our enemies are saying and the need to rally all who understand these threats and to state our case and build this network of support to resist this madness.

“Next year in Jerusalem” at the Seder and also “This year in Jerusalem. Let our people build.” Below is a very important statement about what is going on.

We need your help to make this event possible.  Please donate via Paypal on www.defendjereusalem.net or by mail to: “Defend Jerusalem”,  P.O. Box 402263, Miami Beach, FL.  33140.

Why I am a bad Jew

This was written by Rami Kaminski, MD, founder and director of the Institute for Integrative Psychiatry in New York City .

For centuries, we lived in Berdichev. In the brutal Ukrainian winter of 1941, SS soldiers arrived there and rounded up eighty-seven members of my family – babies, young adults, octogenarians – stripped them naked, marched them to a nearby ditch, and executed them. Their lifeless bodies fell silently into a mass grave.

Like most Jews in Europe, my family “cooperated” with the Final Solution. They did not resist or fight back. Six million Jews were slaughtered in a period of four years. They received little sympathy while they were still alive and hunted down like animals. There was no public outcry because the Holocaust fit the world’s narrative for Jews during the past 2000 years: a people destined to be persecuted and slaughtered.

During their two millennia in the Diaspora, Jews were not known to resist. There are few recorded instances in which Jews turned against their host nations or retaliated against their murderers. Instead, the survivors – if there were any – were expelled or left for another place. The murdered were regarded as “good” Jews. They accepted their fate helplessly, without resistance.

This narrative of the Jews has played out on the historical stage with boring monotony: Jews get killed because they are Jews. Nothing novel about it. After the Holocaust, however, the world, disgusted by this particularly ghoulish period of history, accorded some sympathy for the Jews.

Media commentary about the ongoing Gaza War reveals the world has now reverted to its pre-Holocaust perspective. Today, the only good Jew is a powerless Jew willing to become a dead one. The Zionist Revolution is to blame. It changed everything. Jews re-created their own country. The Arabs attacked the new Jewish state the day after independence and promised to complete Hitler’s genocide. In succeeding decades, the Arabs attacked again and again. Strangely, the Jews, many of them refugees from Arab nations, adopted a surprising, new tactic: they fought back.

With Zionism, the Jews stubbornly refused to follow the centuries-old script. They refuse to be killed without resistance.  As a result, the world has become increasingly enraged at their impertinence.

The recent events in Gaza and Mumbai make this plain. In 2005, Israel eliminated all Jewish presence in Gaza making it “Judenrein,” and handed it over to the Palestinians. Left behind were synagogues and thriving green houses. The Arabs looted and destroyed them literally the day after Israel ‘s withdrawal was complete. Where these structures once stood, the Palestinians built military bases and installed rocket launchers to shell Israeli civilians. To date, some 7,000 missiles have fallen on Israeli cities and towns, killing and maiming dozens, and sowing widespread terror. Medical studies reveal nearly all Jewish children in the communities bordering Gaza suffer from serious, trauma-induced illness.

The Gazan Palestinians then elected Hamas to lead them. Hamas proceeded to kill or imprison their political rivals, and its leaders, true to the Hamas charter, were unabashed in clearly stating their aims: they will not stop until they achieve their Final Solution, kill all the Jews, take over the land of Israel, and establish a theocracy governed by Islamic law.

As killing Jews for being Jews has been a national sport for centuries, Islamic militants are justified in believing they are merely fulfilling historical tradition in Argentina, India and Gaza. Surely the Jews in Mumbai did not occupy Gaza. They were tortured and killed just for being Jews. And predictably, in the eyes of the world, they immediately became good Jews, just like my murdered family in Bertishev.

Good Jews would wait until Hamas has weapons enabling its members to achieve their ultimate goal of absolute mass murder. Those enraged by Israel ‘s defensive military action insist Hamas uses only “crude” rockets, as if Qassams were BB guns, and military inferiority were somehow equivalent with moral superiority. In fact, Hamas now has Iranian-supplied Grad missiles which have landed on Be’er Sheva and the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

Westerners have had only sporadic exposure to the indiscriminate killing in the name of “holy war” which Israel has lived with for years. Memories of 9-11, Madrid, and London have dimmed. This is not because the Islamic militants made a careful choice of weapons. They simply have not yet acquired nuclear bombs. Once they do, the West will develop a less detached view about the Islamists’ professed intentions for the “infidels.”

The only enlightened people in the civilized world who actually get it are the Israelis. They’ve not had time for detached philosophical ponderings. They’ve been too busy confronting the reality of Islamic fundamentalism.

Soon, Iran will have nuclear weapons. It will give them to Hezbollah and Hamas. Today, Jews must take a position: either be “good” Jews willing to be slaughtered without resistance, or be “bad” Jews who defend themselves at the cost of being pariahs of our enlightened world. Good Jews would wait for another six million to be murdered, and pick up to leave for another country to start the cycle again. The bad ones refuse to go calmly into the ditch.

I confess: I’m a bad Jew.

Obama is going after regime change in… Israel

DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis March 25, 2010, 1:33 PM (GMT+02:00)

Put all his weight behind cowing Netanyahu

The deep abyss into which US-Israeli friendship was dumped this week is virtually unbridgeable because there is no point of contact between the ideology and politics held by President Barack Obama and his chief advisers Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod and Israel’s fundamental security needs – no matter who sits in the Prime Minster’s Office in Jerusalem.
When he visited Washington this week, Binyamin Netanyahu discovered to his dismay that the protestations of America’s “rock solid” support for Israel’s security and future by top Obama administrations officials and US guarantees to furnish Israel with the resources needed for its defense were no more than lip-service to the verities espoused by previous administrations. Equally outdated were the standard Israeli assertions that the US needs Israel, its strategic partner, as much as Israel needs America.
Common ground between Washington and Jerusalem has shrunk exponentially in the current administration fourteen months: President Obama wants to see a Palestinian state stretching across all the territory Israel captured in 1967 including Jerusalem (forget the UN resolution promising Israel secure, defensible borders), the siege lifted on the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, a territorial link between the two Palestinian territories (across a chunk of southern Israel) and a large number of the 1948 Palestinian refugees, most of whom are concentrated in Syria and Lebanon, returned – some to their former homes in Israel, some resettled on the West Bank.

But before getting to that point, the president wants a guarantee that Israel will not attack Iran’s nuclear facilities and docilely swallow his acceptance of a nuclear-armed Iran as a fact of Middle East life.
This is obviously what Obama has been pushing for all along, notwithstanding his speeches against Iran’s nuclear bomb drive. How else to explain why his administration has never lifted a finger against Iran – not even in the form of sanctions?
President Obama brooks no recalcitrance and therefore the showdown he staged with the Israeli prime minister at the White House this week was inevitable; Jerusalem was a convenient trigger, but he might have grabbed any other handy issue as a device for a confrontation designed to bring about the fall of Netanyahu and his government.
He therefore has no qualms about seeking regime change in Jerusalem – even ahead of Tehran.

History has shown that whenever a US president decided to oust an Israeli leader, he succeeded. When Yitzhak Rabin stood up to the Middle East policies of Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter in the late 1970’s, his wife’s illegal foreign currency account in New York happened to come to light and force his resignation.
Twenty years later, the first President George Bush and James Baker contrived Yitzhak Shamir’s downfall over the gap in their outlooks on the region.  After he challenged Bill Clinton, Netanyahu had a taste of the same American presidential medicine which ended his first term as prime minister prematurely in 1999.

Obama is confident that the Israeli voter will punish Netanyahu for disagreeing with him this time round as well. He has lost patience with the endless complexities of Middle East peacemaking and, possibly because of his failure to bring Iran to heel, is in a hurry to get the process moving after dictating its outcome.

Getting what he wants, he believes, necessitates Netanyahu’s removal
The difference between Barack Obama and his predecessors is that his methods are far blunter, swifter and more brutal. After he showed his teeth to the prime minister, it no longer matters that he erred tactically in using Jerusalem, an issue on which most Israelis and American Jews are united, as his pretext for triggering huge crisis – or that the Israeli prime minister blundered foolishly in going to Washington and putting his head in the lion’s mouth.

What matters now is that Netanyahu’s options have narrowed to three:

1.  He can resign and call a snap election, running on the Iran and Jerusalem tickets. In any case, Washington and his political rivals at home are intent on forcing him out.
2.  He can order the Israeli military to attack Iran, an action which would restore Israel to its former pivotal position on the Middle East stage, an advantage it lost in 2006 by failing to drive Hizballah into the ground.
Again, if he holds back, his hand may be forced by Iran and its allies, Syria, Hizballah and the Palestinian Hamas, who will be encouraged to go on the offensive by Obama’s cold shoulder to the Jewish state.
3. He can take cover and do nothing and hope the ill wind blows over.
He has opted for non-response so far against the British decision to expel the Mossad representative at the Israeli embassy in London over the forged passports allegedly used by the Dubai killers. Israel’s failure to hit back in kind has caused the Australian, French and other governments whose passports were cloned to seriously consider following in the UK’s footsteps.
London has given the Obama administration an opening for further isolating and humiliating Israel.
As Netanyahu was airborne on his way home Thursday, March 25, the Washington Post underscored this lesson: “Netanyahu is being treated as if he were an unsavory Third World dictator, needed for strategic reasons but conspicuously held at arm’s length,” the paper wrote.

Will the prime minister take this lesson to heart? It is up to him to stand up and show that Israel will never accept the humiliation of being treated as a legitimate US target for regime change and reduced to the level of a Third World dictatorship.
